Romantic poet William Blake made his living as an artist and engraver. His poetry was barely read in his lifetime, but it has gone on to influence songwriters like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. Philip Pullman’s fantasy series, His Dark Materials, is based on a work by Blake.
