While inaugurating the four-day Vidya Bharti North Zone Principal’s Workshop in Bani at Hamirpur, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla praised Vidya Bharti for its significant contribution to societal upliftment. He said that the students, who graduated from Vidya Bharti institutions, had excelled in various fields and were now contributing immensely to society. The event saw the participation of about 500 principals of Vidya Bharti institutions from across the country.
The Governor said that Vidya Bharti, founded in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has seen substantial growth and expansion. He contrasted this with Lord Macaulay’s education policy, which aimed to dismantle the Indian education system, emphasizing that Vidya Bharti was promoting Indian culture.
He commended the teachers associated with the Vidya Bharti for their dedication to a transformative and progressive education system. He acknowledged Vidya Bharti’s impact on Indian education, being the largest non-governmental organization in the field, running thousands of schools nationwide, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Shiv Pratap Shukla said that since its inception in 1952, Vidya Bharti was operating without any government grants, focusing on the all-round development of students and instilling a spirit of nationalism. He appreciated Vidya Bharti’s proactive approach in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP).
The Governor said that the National Curriculum 2023 marks a significant milestone in the country’s educational journey, aiming to create an environment that fosters holistic student development. This curriculum prepares students to face 21st century challenges with confidence, creativity and perseverance. He stressed that the successful implementation of the new curriculum relies on teacher’s leadership, vision and dedication to educational excellence.
“The role of teachers is crucial in transforming the objectives of the national curriculum into meaningful classroom experiences that inspire and empower our young learners,” stated Shukla. He appealed to the educators to work towards creating a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic education system that enables every child to reach their full potential.
The Governor also released books published by Vidya Bharti based on the rich Indian culture. Earlier, Mahamantri, Vidya Bharti Uttar Kshetra Des Raj Sharma detailed the activities of Vidya Bharti in the country in the education sector. Managing Director, Seven Star International School Bani Sandeep Kanwar honoured the Governor on the occasion.
Sangathan Mantri, Vidya Bharti NZ Vijay Nadda, Mahamantri Himachal Prant Suresh Kapil, Managing Director, Seven Star International School Bani Sandeep Kanwar also spoke on the occasion. Local MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
