The Albert Barrow Creative Writing Competition was successfully hosted at E.C.I. Chalet School, Shimla, bringing together young literary talents from Auckland House School, Auckland House School for Boys, and Shimla Public School.
Organised under the aegis of the ICSE Council, the competition aimed to provide students with a meaningful platform to showcase their creativity, imagination, and language skills through the art of writing.
Students participated enthusiastically in two categories — Category I for Classes XI and XII and Category II for Classes IX and X — presenting thought-provoking essays on contemporary themes including “2050: The World We Will Inhabit,” “A Conversation Among the Rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati,” “Diary of a Dying Tree,” and “If I Were Responsible for Making My School Sustainable.”
The participants displayed exceptional creativity, originality, and a strong command of expression. In Category I, Pritha Doegar from Auckland House School and Tanish Sharma from Auckland House School for Boys represented their schools with distinction. In Category II, students including Nehal from Shimla Public School, Rabhya Thakur from Auckland House School, Yugveer Kalra from Auckland House School, and Himanshu Prasad from E.C.I. The event was marked by a spirit of healthy competition, encouragement, and appreciation for young writers. Teachers from all participating schools were present to motivate and support the students throughout the competition.
Expressing her gratitude to all participating institutions, Principal Vinita Sood, E.C.I. Chalet School, said, “Such inter-school events nurture creativity, enhance confidence, and encourage students to express their ideas with clarity and imagination. E.C.I. Chalet School is proud and delighted to host the prestigious Albert Barrow Creative Writing Competition.”
