‘World Week of Prayer and World Fellowship was organized by YWCA of Simla from 8th to 13th November 2015 on the theme ‘Let There Be Hope’. Every year during the month of November, the YWCA movements issue a call for prayer as an important reminder of the spiritual vision that drives its efforts to create a better world for all people. Members, staff and students of YWCA, local congregations and parishes participated in the prayer services organized during the Week of Prayer.

On 11th November the members of YWCA also visited sub-jail in Kaithu on the occasion of Diwali to spread a message of hope among the prisoners and shared food with them and information on prevention of domestic violence.

This year the reflections were based on our various experiences and realities related to personal suffering, natural disasters, violence against women, plight of migration and globalized terror. Speakers for the occasion were Rev. Mushtaq Malik, Pr. Harish Daniel, Rev. Neera Malik, Dr. Rich Minocha and Pr. Samuel Masih.

Our calling is to keep hope alive in times of despair and to keep assisting others as needed. We are filled with hope and we are creating positive change in the lives of the young people, women and communities in which we are present, General Secretary, Rohini N. Singh informed.
