North Oak Public School, Sanjauli, Shimla celebrated its inaugural function as MLA and Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj presided as the Chief Guest accompanied with Director Elementary Education and City Councilors who were warmly greeted by the Board of Gian Bhawan Educational Trust including Chairman Sanjay Sood, and trustees Rajan Sood and Subala Sood along with Director Principal Namita Lal and staff members. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Trilok Chand. The morning began with the ribbon cutting thereafter the Minister was given guided tour of the classrooms, activity room and the labs. Following this the students of Classes I and II presented Ganesh Vandana (see video).
While welcoming the distinguished guests School Principal said, “Quality education comprises of four pillars – learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be – We shall provide our children the warm and caring environment where they can imbibe these pillars to become life-long learners. Our safe haven will help them blossom into flowers to become individuals with confidence and strong character.”
“Each child will be given individual attention and an opportunity to gain confidence through all year round activities and competitions. Education is not just about learning through books, but we learn so much from our environment. It will be our sincere effort to connect this learning with the environment and daily life”, she further added.
“In keeping with the rich heritage of India we will stress on the development of mind, body and spirit. Our endeavor is to use innovative and creative methods to provide character education which will help in building strengths like honesty, compassion, responsibility and fair play. Smart classrooms and hands-on activity rooms shall further help the children to become ingenious. Our aim will be to inculcate in children, the love of learning and desire to continue to expand their knowledge throughout their life, while being respectful and empathetic towards others”, she concluded.
Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister said that any institute whether private or public, if imparting quality education is close to my heart and I will do whatever possible to make sure that they do not face problems, as well-educated children are the future of the nation. He appreciated the role of the school and hoped that in future North Oak Public School grows and reaches new heights where each child will look forward as a proud citizen. He also stressed on the need of quality education in government schools where teachers are well qualified but still students are not provided with proper infrastructure.
After this, the students of Class Nursery to Second presented a cultural program that was appreciated by all. In spite of a new begining and only few days of practice the children showed that they were ready and the teachers had done a beautiful job ensuring that the children were well behaved and performed marvelously.
