104th ISC organized at Tirupati — Science and Technology for National Development

ScCong030117 (1)State Council for Science, Technology & Environment, Shimla (H.P) is participating in 104th Indian Science Congress (ISC) at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India from 3-7th January, 2017. The 104th ISC was inaugurated by Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India and was graced by eminent scientists, Noble laureates, dignitaries, former ISCA general presidents, industry leaders, policy makers, innovators, academicians and thousands of national / international delegates. The theme aptly chosen is “Science and Technology for National Development”.

ScCong030117 (3)The ISC at Tirupati would focus on the role of Science and Technology for development in India across all sections of the society. About 200 Scientists around the world and 18,000 participants are expected for 104th ISCA. Two students of District Mandi and Solan selected in Scientific Project Report during State Level Children Science Congress at Nahan, District Sirmour are participating, whereas Science & Technology Council is participating in Pride of India, Frontier Science & Technologies Mega Expo showcasing achievements of State Council for Science, Technology & ScCong030117 (2)Environment, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Hon’ble PM gave awards to eight eminent scientists/scholars of India working in their respective fields. A speech has been given by Noble Laureate Prof. Ada E Yonath, Noble Prize winner in Chemistry (2009), Weizmann Institute of Science, Isreal on the topic of ‘Towards a New Generation of Antibiotics” on the occasion of Indian Science Congress held at Srinivasa auditorium SV University Titupati. The Nobel laureates were felicitated with gold medals by the Prime Minister at the ISC venue. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Governor ESL Narasimhan received and accompanied PM Modi during his six-hour visit in Tirupati.
