16 Literati’s Journey to Baba Bhalku’s Ancestral Village Jhajha (Chail)

Baba Bhalku Literary Fest

After the successful organization of Baba Bhalku Railway Memorial Literature Dialogue, the authors will now travel to the ancestral village Jhajha of Baba Bhalku Zaza (Chayal) on 2nd September, 2018. In this unique literary journey, the 16 authors will gather at New Shimla, BCS Chowk at 9 p.m., from where the evet will begin. This journey has been organized under the joint venture of Himalaya Manch and Naval Prayas Shimla, as stated by eminent author SR Harnot.

He further added that the first stop of this journey will be the historic Junga village, 18 kilometers from Shimla, where the first literary meet will be organized with gram panchayat and other villagers with the association of Gram Panchayat Pradhan Anjana Sen and their members. The attraction of this seminar will be a poet concert with the rural people.

 SR Harnot said that the second and important phase of this journey will be the visit of Baba Bhalku’s ancestral village Jhajha which is located 23 kilometers from Junga and 8 kilometers from Chail. This visit of 16 authors will be assisted by local resident senior writer, artist and ex announcer of All India Radio, Shimla, BR Mehta and the Akant Hotel owner Devender Verma. In the village of Jhajha, the authors will visit Baba Bhalku’s ancestral house and meet his family and villagers, thereafter a literary seminar will be organized with the local people.

 The participating authors in this trip will be Vinod Prakash Gupta, SR Harnot, Sudarshan Vashishta, Kul Rajiv Pant, Atma Ranjan, Satish Rattan, Sita Ram Sharma, Shanti Swarup Sharma, Dinesh Sharma, Gupteshwar Nath, Kaushal Mungta, Dhanjay Suman, Naresh Deog, Uma Thakur, Monika Chhattu and Kalpna Gangta.
