The 25th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle, observed nationwide as the Tiranga Cycling Rally, took place on Sunday, blending patriotism, fitness, and sustainability in a powerful tribute to India’s armed forces. Over 15,000 cyclists from 5,000+ locations participated in the rally, including enthusiastic turnout from Jammu & Kashmir regions such as Baramulla, Kulgam, and Poonch.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, led over 1,500 cyclists from Delhi’s Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, joined by sporting legends like Yogeshwar Dutt, Sarita Mor, Saba Karim, and actress Sharvari, who was felicitated as the Young Fit India Icon.

The event paid tribute to India’s brave soldiers, particularly in light of Operation Sindoor, with Dr. Mandaviya noting, “Fitness and patriotism go hand in hand.”

In a move to blend fitness with environmental consciousness, the minister also launched a Carbon Credit Tracker on the Fit India mobile app, allowing cyclists to monitor their eco-impact. Additionally, the Fit India Newsletter was introduced to provide monthly fitness stories, tips, and community updates.

Olympian Dipa Karmakar flagged off the rally in Agartala, while celebrated athletes such as Sumit Antil, Deepika Kumari, and SK Uthappa led regional rallies in Sonepat and Bengaluru. Notably, large contingents from All India Police Forces, CISF, and educational institutions also participated.

From Uttarakhand to Varanasi, state sports ministers and public figures lent their support, reinforcing the initiative’s pan-India appeal.

“This is not just a fitness campaign—it’s a national movement,” said Yogeshwar Dutt. “When the people are fit, the nation is strong.”

Launched in December 2024, Fit India Sundays on Cycle has grown exponentially in just six months—an embodiment of collective commitment to a healthier and greener India.
