Delhi Public School, Shimla, was alive with vibrant energy and youthful voices as it celebrated its annual Word Weavers Day, a special occasion dedicated to fostering eloquence, expression, and the art of public speaking among young learners. The event saw full participation from students across Nursery to Class V, showcasing their talent through rhymes and poems delivered with enthusiasm and confidence. The 100% participation highlighted the school’s unwavering dedication to nurturing communication skills and self-assurance right from the foundational years.

The celebration kicked off at 5:00 pm with a traditional dance performance on Ganesh Vandana, setting a cultural tone for the evening. Headmistress Kirti Tiwari warmly welcomed the audience, emphasizing the importance of such platforms in helping students develop critical thinking, clear articulation, and passion for expression—skills vital for their holistic growth.

Students then took the stage for group recitations in Hindi and English, ranging from playful rhymes to patriotic and value-driven poems. Each performance reflected clear diction, expressive voices, and a heartfelt connection to the themes. A stirring finale by Classes II to V stirred patriotic fervor among the audience, reinforcing pride in the nation.

Chief Guest Anil Kumar Khachi, the 7th State Election Commissioner of Himachal Pradesh and an alumnus of DPS Mathura Road, lauded the students’ eloquence and the school’s effort in organizing a meaningful event. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Anuradha Sharma, Trustee of the DPS Managing Committee, followed by the solemn rendition of the National Anthem, leaving the audience inspired and uplifted.
