3000 Persons Benefited under PMSVANidhi Scheme in Himachal: Suresh Bhardwaj

Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said here today that more than 3000 people have been benefited with distribution of Rs. 3 crore collateral free loans under PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi  (PMSVANidhi) launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to empower Street vendors.

Urban Development Minister said that the state government led by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur is committed to the all around development of the state. The HP Urban Development Department is successfully implementing this scheme rolled out by the centre. State has 5790 Street vendors registered with the department out of which more than 3000 have been benefited under this scheme.

Bhardwaj said that collateral free loan worth Rs. 3 crore has been disbursed to the beneficiaries and the state government was committed to implement this scheme in letter and spirit. Now ward councillors and officials concerned would reach out to Street vendors to make them aware about the scheme besides helping them to avail the benefits, he added.

The Minister directed officers of Urban Development Department to communicate with banks to dispose pending cases.

He said that some loan applications were ineligible while few were pending. In order to make it more convenient to the street vendors Councillors would reach out to Street vendors in their respective areas, so that all genuine street vendors get the benefits of the scheme, he said.

The Minister further said that the scheme aims to provide working capital loans up to Rs. 10,000 at a subsidized rate of interest for a period of one year. The interest subsidy of seven percent is also provided on timely or early repayment of the loan.

He said that the eligible persons interested to avail the benefit of PMSVANidhi can apply on the website https://pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in or can visit the office of Urban Local Bodies.
