Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today reviewed the progress of disaster-affected drinking water schemes in Kullu district with officials from the Jal Shakti Department. He highlighted that the district had suffered significantly due to recent natural calamities, which disrupted normal life. Out of 708 schemes managed by the Jal Shakti Department, 506 have been affected by the disaster.
Agnihotri noted that the department’s officers and employees were working round-the-clock to restore these schemes and provide much-needed relief to the affected communities. He shared that, as of now, 432 schemes had been partially restored, with efforts to repair the remaining schemes continuing at a fast pace.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the state government was fully committed to supporting the affected people and was taking all necessary measures to ensure they do not face further hardships. The priority is to restore normal water supply to every affected area as soon as possible.
