The 60th All India Akhil Bhartiya Dance and Drama Competition held at Kalibari Hall, Shimla finally came to an end with a big bang. While informing about the event the organizers said that it is an annual event where talented people are given an opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a huge audience. In this five days long event nearly 100 teams participated consisting on almost 500 talented people under a single roof.
During the drama competition participants gave voice to various social issues that have been affecting our society. They all proved in unison that art holds a mirror to the society as with their various acts they all made the audiences contemplate about the serious situations that one faces every day in life. Whereas on the other hand the dance competition was like a light and fresh breeze, as all the dancers entertained the spectators with their mesmerizing performances.
In the Drama Social Category Muktidham by Ttmsi Production Vadodara bagged the first prize whereas Dasini by SPB English Medium School Surat and Dhrishti by Ganesh Art Production bagged the second and third prize. Best stylish play was bagged by the Sarsawati Youth Theatre Group, Best Comedy Play – Nahi Mai A.K.S. and Abhigram Production Baroda’s Kuch Pal Shri Krishan Ke Saath. Best comedy actor was won by Anjam Ghulati for Natak Nahi Akas by Abharo Group. While expressing his joy and happiness he said that it had been one of the finest experiences of his life. He came as an actor to perform without expecting anything more than a great performance and bagging the award was just like icing on a cake.
Whereas in the dance competition in the modern category, Dhara Arts Entertainment Baroda was declared first while R.D. Boys and Girls Chhattisgarh stood second. In group dance – Rajeevan, Zoha, Unmesh from Kalamandir Center Kerala were awarded prizes.
