Bikaner Solar Power Project Update: 241.77 MW Phase-I Now Operational

SJVN, through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has successfully achieved the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for 241.77 MW capacity in Phase-I of the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project. This milestone marks a significant step in India’s renewable energy expansion.

1000 MW Bikaner Solar Project: Full Commissioning by September 2025

The project, with a total planned capacity of 1000 MW, is set for full commissioning by 30th September 2025. Upon completion, SGEL will supply solar power to the states of Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, contributing to India’s clean energy transition.

Developed Under CPSU Scheme – Supporting Make in India Initiative

Located in Bikaner district, Rajasthan, this project is being developed under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme – Phase II, Tranche III, under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.

Additionally, the project is being implemented under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode, strengthening India’s Make in India initiative and promoting domestic solar manufacturing.

Boosting India’s Renewable Energy Targets

The 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project will play a crucial role in achieving India’s target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. It also aligns with SJVN’s Shared Vision of reaching 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable energy.
