SJVN Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has marked another major milestone by achieving Commercial Operation Date (COD) for 78.23 MW capacity in its ambitious 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. Earlier, 241.77 MW (Phase-1) was made operational on April 2, 2025, bringing the total commissioned capacity to over 320 MW.
This rapid progress strengthens SJVN’s position as a key player in India’s green energy revolution and has generated positive sentiment in the stock market, with investors closely tracking developments related to the project and SJVN share price.
Solar Power Surge in Rajasthan
Located in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, the project is being developed under the CPSU Scheme – Phase II, Tranche III by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. It is scheduled to be fully commissioned by the third quarter of 2025, with the generated power supplied to Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
Boost to Make in India & Domestic Manufacturing
The project follows the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode, ensuring that all critical solar components are made in India. This aligns with the Make in India initiative and supports the growth of the indigenous solar manufacturing sector.
Key Role in India’s 500 GW Green Energy Mission
With a total planned capacity of 1000 MW, the Bikaner Solar Power Project is set to contribute significantly to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030. It also aligns with SJVN’s Shared Vision to become a 25,000 MW company by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
Market Reaction: Investor Eyes on SJVN Stock
With each phase of this project going live, analysts expect positive momentum in SJVN’s share price, especially as the company positions itself as a dominant force in India’s renewable energy sector. Investors are optimistic about long-term value creation as the company builds a sustainable and diversified energy portfolio.
