CM Sukhu today encouraged a group of young administrative officers to prioritize a people-centric approach in their public service roles. The officers, including two IAS probationers of the 2024 batch and 19 probationers from the Himachal Administrative Services and allied services of the 2025 batch, are undergoing foundational training at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) from June 2 to July 11, 2025.
In his address, Sukhu highlighted the importance of transparency, efficiency, and public welfare in governance. He urged the officers to develop a thorough understanding of government welfare schemes to ensure effective delivery of benefits to those most in need.
Sukhu underscored the significance of tourism and hydro power as key drivers of Himachal Pradesh’s economy. He shared his recent visit to Shipki La in Kinnaur district, near the China border, where he inaugurated a new border tourism initiative. He noted that the destination has already attracted over 2,500 visitors, reflecting the state’s efforts to boost tourism and strengthen local livelihoods.
The event was also attended by Director of Tourism Vivek Bhatia and Director of HIPA Rupali Thakur.
