CM Sukhu, while receiving a warm welcome by Himachal Pradesh State Wool Federation Chairman Manoj Kumar and supporters in Dharamshala, announced that the state government is seriously considering increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wool in the upcoming State Budget. The initiative aims to strengthen the livelihood of wool producers, particularly the Gaddi community, which relies heavily on sheep and goat rearing.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of the Gaddi community. He also assured that compensation for loss of goats and sheep would be enhanced, and the relief manual would be amended to reflect this change.

Highlighting the traditional rights of the community, the Chief Minister directed the Forest Department to refrain from interfering with the customary land grazing rights of the Gaddis, asserting their continued access to pastures.

Chairman Manoj Kumar expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for prioritizing the concerns of the Gaddi community and taking steps to resolve them. The event was also attended by Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, MLA Sanjay Awasthi, APMC Chairman Nishu Mongra, and senior Congress leader Devender Jaggi.
