CM Sukhu made a surprise inspection of the ongoing construction work at the Hamirpur bus stand today. He emphasized the government’s commitment to completing the long-pending project by next year, after a delay of nearly two decades due to lack of funds.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister stated that instructions have been given to expedite the work on a war footing. The new bus stand will include a lower-level parking facility to ease travel for commuters.
The Chief Minister also shared updates on health infrastructure, stating that Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College in Hamirpur will be opened soon, offering specialized healthcare services to the region. Procurement of furniture for the facility is already underway.
Highlighting developments in the education sector, Sukhu said the state has improved its national ranking from 21st to 5th due to a series of innovative reforms. English medium instruction has begun from Class 1 in all government schools, and the Directorate of Education has been restructured into separate Directorates for School and Higher Education. The state is also facilitating exposure visits for students and teachers and implementing school rationalization to enhance the quality of education.
