Auckland House School for Boys is proud to announce that Kumar Ayam, a dedicated 8th-grade student, has been selected to represent India at the esteemed Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy 2025. The championship will take place from August 20 to 24, 2025, at the Himadri Ice Skating Rink in Dehradun.

Ayam will compete in the Junior C category in both the 500m and 1000m events, facing off against top young skaters from 11 Asian nations, including powerhouses like China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

His selection is a testament to his relentless effort and passion for the sport, as well as the guidance of his coach, Pankaj Prabhakar, and the unwavering support from the school’s faculty.

Principal Reuben John expressed pride in Ayam’s accomplishment, stating, “This is a proud moment for our school, our state, and the nation. Ayam’s perseverance and discipline, coupled with the coaching and encouragement he has received, have brought him to this global stage. We wish him success in this prestigious tournament.”

The Ice Skating Association of India (ISAI) will stream the event live on YouTube, offering the nation an opportunity to support Ayam and Team India in real time.
