The Ministry of Ayush organized a curtain-raiser press conference today at the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) Headquarters, Janakpuri, to build momentum for its participation in the Emerging Science, Technology, and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025, scheduled from November 3–5, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The event was chaired by Alarmelmangai D, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, who highlighted the Ministry’s participation through a thematic video. Speaking to the media, she emphasized that ESTIC 2025 is a national platform celebrating India’s innovation ecosystem and scientific spirit. “This event reflects the convergence of India’s traditional health knowledge with cutting-edge modern technologies. The Ministry of Ayush is proud to contribute in the thematic area of Health and Medical Technologies,” she said.
Alarmelmangai D noted that India’s healthcare is undergoing a transformation, with innovations in biomedical engineering, AI-based diagnostics, and precision medicine complementing traditional systems like Ayurveda. She highlighted the Ayush Grid initiative, which includes digital platforms such as the Ayush Hospital Management Information System (A-HMIS), e-Learning Management System (e-LMS), Yoga Portal, e-Aushadhi, Ayush Suraksha, and global outreach tools like mYoga App and Ayush Global Portal. These platforms aim to create a citizen-centric, digitally connected, and data-driven healthcare ecosystem.
Dr. A. Raghu, Adviser (Ay), underlined that ESTIC 2025 will provide a platform to showcase India-centric innovations, integrative healthcare, and point-of-care biomedical technologies. The Ministry’s dedicated session on Health and Medical Technologies, scheduled for November 4, will be co-chaired by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, and Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, DHR & Director-General, ICMR, and feature addresses by experts including Dr. Shiv Kumar Sarin, Prof. Gagandeep Kang, Prof. Tanuja Nesari, and C.V. Muraleedharan. A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Jitendra Sharma will explore integration of traditional and modern health technologies.
Dr. Srinivas Rao Chinta, Joint Advisor (H), detailed the Ministry’s focus areas, highlighting that the Ayush pavilion and technical sessions will showcase research models, integrative healthcare frameworks, and collaborative projects bridging traditional medicine with modern science.
Organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the guidance of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, ESTIC 2025 aims to foster partnerships among government, academia, industry, start-ups, and civil society to advance India’s innovation-driven growth and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
