Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged students to believe in themselves, dream without limits, and become agents of social transformation. Speaking at the inauguration of the two-day cultural fest “Symphoria 2025” at St. Bede’s College, Shimla, he emphasized that women empowerment is not just about opportunities but about realizing one’s inner strength and potential.

He described the fest as a celebration of talent, creativity, and empowerment, reflecting the college’s legacy of nurturing character, confidence, and leadership alongside academic excellence. Lauding St. Bede’s College for its contributions to girls’ education since 1904, the Governor called it a beacon of learning and progressive thought in North India.

Highlighting key themes of Symphoria 2025, including gender equity, environmental consciousness, Indian knowledge systems, culture, and diversity, he stressed their importance for sustainable societal growth. “No society can progress without gender equality and women empowerment,” he said, adding that young women represent the new identity of modern India and will shape the nation’s future.

Celebrating recent achievements, he cited India’s Women’s Cricket World Cup victory and praised Himachal’s Renuka Thakur for her key role, noting that daughters of Himachal continue to lead in sports, academics, and the armed forces.

The Governor also appreciated the students’ cultural performances. Principal Sister Rosely welcomed him and briefed him on the event, which was attended by Secretary to the Governor C.P. Verma, district administration officials, faculty members, and other dignitaries.
