Addressing the 9th Convocation of the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR), Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, praised the institution as one of India’s fastest-growing centers of scientific excellence.

Launched in 2023, AcSIR’s “i-PhD” program is a unique academic initiative linking imagination, innovation, and industry. Dr. Singh emphasized that the program empowers scholars to develop technologies relevant to translational research and startups, directly aligning academic training with industrial needs.

Despite being just over a decade old, AcSIR has rapidly emerged as a national hub of multidisciplinary research, hosting nearly 7,000 students mentored by over 3,100 scientists across 79 campuses. Dr. Singh noted that the institution’s growth reflects India’s rising scientific aspirations under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, with science and innovation increasingly driving economic growth and global competitiveness.

Highlighting the impact of AcSIR, the Minister said the Academy is grooming the next generation of torchbearers in deep-tech, climate science, frontier research, and sustainable innovation. He described AcSIR as a “wholesome whole,” integrating science, education, governance, and national ambition.

AcSIR’s achievements include over 25,000 publications, numerous patents, 831 PhDs awarded in 2024, and top rankings in NIRF, Nature Index, CWUR, and Scimago 2025. International collaborations with institutions like RMIT, Deakin University, University of Melbourne, and AIST (Japan) are expanding its global footprint.

Dr. Singh also lauded initiatives such as the AcSIR Science Club, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Transdisciplinary Lecture Series, and the annual magazine Bravura, which foster creativity and interdisciplinary learning.

Concluding his address, the Minister encouraged graduates to carry forward the spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, and research excellence, contributing to India’s vision of a technologically self-reliant, globally competitive, and future-ready nation.
