Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh attended the Shaan-e-Koti 2025–26 programme as the chief guest at Gaiety Theatre, Shimla. The event was jointly organised by the Mashobra, Baldeyan, Durgapur and Gumma Students’ Associations and Youth Welfare Organisations.

Congratulating the members of all four student associations and youth organisations for the successful organisation, the Minister said that such programmes play a vital role in promoting social harmony while preserving and nurturing the region’s rich cultural heritage. He expressed happiness at getting the opportunity to attend the programme after the year 2004–05 and said that events like these help in uniting and organising the youth of the region.

Addressing the gathering, Anirudh Singh emphasised the importance of encouraging children from a young age to participate in stage programmes, as it helps them overcome hesitation and develop confidence in presenting themselves effectively. He called upon the youth to move forward with a positive mindset and work diligently towards achieving their life goals.

Renowned Himachali singer, popularly known as “Nati King” Kuldeep Sharma, enthralled the audience with his soulful performances. In addition, students from various schools presented colourful cultural programmes, adding vibrancy to the event.

The chief guest also honoured the participating children and office bearers of the organising associations for their contributions. Among those present on the occasion were Panchayat Samiti Mashobra Chairperson Chandrakanta Verma, Shimla Municipal Corporation councillors Narendra Thakur, Vinay Sharma, Ankush Verma, Mamta, Shinm Kataria, Shanta Thakur and Vishakha Modi; BDC member Balwinder Ballu; former BDC Vice-Chairman Rishi Rathore; former Mandal President Bhupender Kanwar; former Pradhan Om Prakash Thakur; OSD to the Minister Sonu Pandit; Students’ Organisation President Arshita Thakur; along with several panchayat representatives, party office bearers, departmental officers, parents and a large number of students and youth organisation members.
