In a significant initiative to promote sustainable livelihoods in remote areas, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Indian Army, the Government of Himachal Pradesh, and Baidyanath Ayurved, Jhansi. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

The collaboration aims to encourage large-scale cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants in selected border and remote villages across the state. Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted that the initiative will not only revive traditional Ayurvedic practices but also provide long-term, sustainable income opportunities for local communities.

The MoU was signed by Col. T.S.K. Singh on behalf of the Indian Army, Rohit Jamwal, Director of Ayush for the State Government, and Shailesh Sharma representing Baidyanath Ayurved, Jhansi.

Under the agreement, the Ayush Department will offer technical expertise and training in medicinal plant cultivation. Baidyanath Ayurved will ensure assured procurement at fixed prices and provide high-quality seeds and saplings, while the Indian Army will conduct additional training and technical sessions for farmers.
