Governor Kavinder Gupta today presided over a special meditation and spiritual discourse led by globally renowned speaker Sister Shivani in Shimla. Organized by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, the event centered on mental well-being, inner peace, and the role of spirituality in navigating modern-day stress.
During the event, Governor Gupta lauded the Brahma Kumaris organization for its decades-long dedication to fostering spiritual awakening, moral values, and positive living. He noted that in a fast-paced world driven by material pursuits, the organization’s focus on self-awareness, meditation, and balanced living serves as a vital anchor for human wellness.
“Sister Shivani’s simple, deeply practical, and inspiring messages have positively shaped millions of lives globally,” the Governor stated. “Her teachings remind us that true happiness does not depend on our external circumstances, but on our internal thoughts, values, and attitude toward life. This message is incredibly relevant in today’s hyper-connected, anxious world.”
The Governor highlighted that the organization’s work extends into critical social arenas, including mental health advocacy, family dynamics, emotional resilience, and self-empowerment. He emphasized that the youth, in particular, stand to benefit from these teachings, helping them build disciplined, confident, and value-based lives.
Concluding his address, Governor Gupta remarked that individuals who develop inner strength and peace are uniquely equipped to contribute to meaningful nation-building. Spirituality, he noted, naturally breeds compassion, tolerance, and a shared responsibility toward society.
The event concluded with a mutual exchange of honors, where Sister Shivani felicitated the Governor, and Governor Gupta presented the spiritual leader with a traditional Himachali cap and shawl as a token of the state’s respect.
