Governor Kavinder Gupta presided over the Telangana Foundation Day celebrations at Lok Bhavan today, emphasizing that India’s deep cultural diversity remains its greatest national strength. Organised under the central government’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, the event served as a platform to honor the unique heritage of Telangana while reinforcing a collective national identity.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor highlighted that the initiative, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, plays a crucial role in bridging geographical distances and fostering deep cultural integration across states and Union Territories. He noted that celebrating individual state foundation days gives citizens a chance to appreciate different customs, while simultaneously honoring the historical struggles and sacrifices made by those who built and shaped their respective states.

Governor Gupta described ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ as a cornerstone for building a united, prosperous, and harmonious nation. He stressed that while Indians belong to various communities, regions, and linguistic backgrounds, their primary identity is always anchored in being Indian first. He urged society to continuously promote mutual respect, harmony, and national pride to ensure that the country’s collective aspirations are met.

Concluding his address, the Governor remarked that the spirit of the initiative teaches citizens the importance of standing shoulder-to-shoulder. By embracing each other’s cultures, he stated, the nation actively strengthens the vision of a resilient, inclusive, and progressive India.
