Governor Kavinder Gupta on Friday said that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 can only be achieved through the active participation of villages, farmers, youth and women, stressing the need for a strong rural economy, modern agriculture, skill development and entrepreneurship to build a self-reliant India.
He was addressing the Annual Lecture on “Bharat 2047: The Resolve of a Developed India” organised by the Panchanad Shodh Sansthan Adhyayan Kendra in Shimla.
The Governor said that by the time India completes 100 years of independence in 2047, the goal is not only economic strength but also the creation of an inclusive, innovative and value-driven nation. He noted that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a collective mission involving all citizens.
Appreciating the efforts of the Panchanad Research Institute, he highlighted its role in research, public awareness and nation-building. He also pointed to India’s rapid progress in digital technology, start-ups, infrastructure, healthcare, education and financial inclusion, stating that the country’s digital model has earned global recognition.
Gupta emphasized that economic growth must go hand in hand with social justice, environmental protection and cultural values.
Addressing the youth, he said Himachal Pradesh has immense talent and potential, and stressed the importance of providing quality education, modern skills and opportunities for innovation. He urged young people to become job creators rather than job seekers and contribute to solving societal challenges.
He added that India’s development journey depends not only on government policies but also on the energy, character and patriotism of its youth.
On the occasion, the Governor released two books titled Puran Purush: Sikhhi Ke Sutra by Radhika Dhiman and Man Buddhi Ka Vikas: Sikhhi Ke Sutra by Amardeep Singh.
Earlier, Prof. Brij Kishore Kuthiala delivered the keynote address on the theme of a developed India by 2047, while Raj Kumar Verma and Prof. Manu Sood also shared their perspectives on the vision.
