Auckland House School resonated with excitement, colour, and youthful energy as it celebrated LPD Sports Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation. The event provided a vibrant platform for young learners to demonstrate their physical abilities, coordination, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship through a variety of engaging races and drill displays.
The programme was graced by Dr. Kamayani Bisht, Principal, Government College of Fine Arts, Shimla, as the Chief Guest, while Reuben T. John, Principal, Auckland House School for Boys, attended as the Guest of Honour.
A total of 22 sporting events were organized for students from Nursery to Form II, making the day a delightful celebration of movement and learning. The competitions included a range of fun-filled races such as Apple Race, Pear Race, Mango Race, Colour Matching Race, Cap Race, No-Drop Ball Race, Hold Together the Book Race, Caterpillar Race, Hula Hoop Cone Race, Dressing-Up Race, Two Minds Two Hands Race, Treasure Hunt, Three-Legged Race, Duck Race, Skating, and Musical Chairs.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, special races for parents witnessed enthusiastic participation and brought together families, students, and teachers in a spirit of camaraderie and celebration.
Among the highlights of the event were the colourful Umbrella PT Display presented by Form I students and the vibrant Tambourine PT Display by Form II students. The impressive Gymnastics Display by students of Forms I and II earned loud applause from parents and guests, showcasing the children’s discipline, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Kamayani Bisht praised the school for creating meaningful opportunities that foster not only academic excellence but also physical fitness, confidence, teamwork, and character development. She appreciated the enthusiasm and determination displayed by the young participants and emphasized the important role sports play in nurturing resilient, disciplined, and well-rounded individuals from an early age.
Speaking on the occasion, Samarki Samantharoy highlighted the significance of sports in holistic education. He noted that events such as Sports Day help children develop confidence, perseverance, leadership skills, and a healthy competitive spirit. He commended the students for their spirited participation and expressed gratitude to the parents and staff for their continued support in making the event a grand success.
