The Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board recorded a strong 39 percent sales growth during the 2025–26 financial year, reaching ₹54.84 crore compared to ₹39.19 crore in 2024–25. This commercial performance generated an estimated income of ₹4.50 crore for the Board. The figures were presented during the Board’s 248th Board of Directors meeting, chaired by Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan. Commending the performance, the Minister instructed officials to rationalize staffing to match actual functional requirements, aiming to optimize human resources and boost administrative efficiency.
To maximize revenue and foster self-reliance, the Board of Directors approved plans to lease out vacant properties, including empty sales centers at the Kangra complex and wool carding facilities in Udaipur, Holi, and Pooh. Looking ahead, the Board has established an aggressive sales target of ₹112.00 crore for the 2026–27 fiscal year, having already achieved ₹19.71 crore in sales as of July 2026. The meeting was attended by key leadership, including Special Secretary of Finance Vijay Wardhan, Special Secretary of Industries Sunil Sharma, and Board CEO Jitender Kanwar.
