Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today launched Aarogya Setu 2.0, repositioning the app as a unified, citizen-centric digital gateway for healthcare services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
Originally developed during the COVID-19 pandemic for contact tracing and risk awareness, Aarogya Setu has now been transitioned to the National Health Authority for long-term use within India’s digital health ecosystem.
The upgraded version will function as a Personal Health Record (PHR) platform, enabling individuals and families to access, manage and track their health data through a single interface, while also promoting wider adoption of ABDM services across the country.
With nearly 20 crore downloads, the platform aims to act as a key entry point for citizens into India’s digital health system, making healthcare services more accessible and integrated.
Aarogya Setu 2.0 offers a range of features, including ABHA creation, digital health record management, AI-based digitisation of medical reports, personalised health dashboards, and integration with wearable devices for tracking vitals such as steps, heart rate and glucose levels.
The app also provides services such as PM-JAY wallet tracking, insurance details, CAPF policy information, hospital discovery, e-RaktKosh blood availability, ambulance booking, and Scan & Share functionality for seamless healthcare access.
Additional features include family health record management, medication reminders, GPS-based search for nearby healthcare facilities, and a consent-based data sharing system to ensure user privacy and control over medical information.
Officials said the revamped platform is designed to strengthen India’s digital health infrastructure and make healthcare delivery more transparent, accessible and citizen-friendly.
