CM Sukhu on Tuesday virtually inaugurated a 33/11 kV power sub-station at Patlander (Ansla) in Sujanpur Assembly constituency of Hamirpur district. Constructed at a cost of ₹7.54 crore, the project is expected to improve power supply for around 14,000 people across 16 Gram Panchayats.
The Chief Minister said the project includes a 7.2-km 33 kV HTSC transmission line from Chabutra to Ansla, ensuring a dependable electricity supply to the new sub-station. It will cater to the Kot Chauri, Sujanpur, Patlander and Palai 11 kV feeders while also being linked with the Tauni Devi and Sujanpur substations to maintain uninterrupted supply during emergencies.
Sukhu said the new infrastructure would not only address the long-pending problem of low voltage but also reduce transmission losses through shorter power lines and interconnected feeders. He added that the project has been designed to meet the area’s growing electricity demand in the coming years.
The Chief Minister credited Sujanpur MLA Ranjit Singh Rana for consistently raising the demand for the project and said the state government ensured adequate funding for its completion. He said he had planned to inaugurate the sub-station in person but could not travel due to the ongoing monsoon.
MLA Ranjit Singh Rana thanked the Chief Minister, stating that the project would significantly strengthen power infrastructure in the constituency and benefit residents of 16 Gram Panchayats.
Several ministers, legislators and senior officials attended the programme in Shimla, while Hamirpur district officials joined the event virtually from Sujanpur.
