Auckland House School has added another feather to its cap with two Class XII students, Pritha Doegar and Jiya Rampal Saini, being shortlisted for the John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious academic essay competitions for young scholars. Pritha has been shortlisted in the Politics category, while Jiya has earned recognition in Economics.
The John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize is renowned for recognising exceptional young thinkers who demonstrate originality, intellectual rigour, and analytical excellence. This year’s competition attracted 100,227 entries from 183 countries, with only the top 17.5% of submissions making it to the shortlist, underscoring the significance of this international achievement.
The accomplishment places Pritha and Jiya among an elite group of young scholars whose essays have been recognised globally for their academic excellence, independent thought, and strength of argument.
Congratulating the students, Smaraki Samantaroy, Principal, Auckland House School, said, “At Auckland House School, we are committed to nurturing intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a global perspective. Pritha and Jiya have exemplified these values through their outstanding achievement. Their success in one of the world’s most competitive essay contests is a matter of immense pride for the entire school community. We congratulate both students, their parents, and their mentors, and wish them continued success in the next stage of the competition.”
The achievement reflects Auckland House School’s continued commitment to academic excellence and its focus on preparing students to excel on global platforms through scholarship, innovation, and a passion for learning.
