Governor Pushes Skill-Based Education Revolution

Governor Kavinder Gupta called for strengthening higher education through innovation, research and skill-based learning to achieve the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Addressing the 36th Himachal Pradesh University Court meeting, the Governor said universities must focus on academic excellence, emerging technologies and entrepreneurship to prepare youth for future challenges.

He inaugurated the university’s Digital Studio/MOOC Recording Studio and highlighted the importance of expanding digital education.

The Governor stressed promoting research in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science and Green Technology, along with strengthening start-ups, industry partnerships and internship opportunities.

He also emphasized institutional accountability, environmental responsibility and integrating Indian knowledge systems with modern education as per the National Education Policy-2020.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh highlighted the university’s recent initiatives, including new centres focused on green energy, AI, Pahari culture, disaster management and Indian knowledge systems.
