The Department of Youth Affairs, through MY Bharat in collaboration with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has enabled nearly one lakh young people to access the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) through its digital platform and nationwide volunteer network.

As of July 16, 2026, 98,632 youth had been redirected from the MY Bharat portal to the PMIS portal for registration and application. A dedicated PMIS volunteer opportunity on the MY Bharat platform has made it easier for eligible youth to learn about the scheme and apply.

To boost awareness and industry engagement, MY Bharat and PMIS also organised outreach and internship camps in Chennai, Pune and Dantewada, attracting over 1,490 participants. The camps connected young applicants with partner companies, offering guidance on internship opportunities, industry expectations and the application process.

The initiative aims to expand access to internships, strengthen industry-government collaboration and enhance youth employability, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

The information was shared by the government in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
