Union Minister of State for Education, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, said the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is laying the foundation for an inclusive, skill-focused and future-ready education system. Addressing the concluding session of the two-day Conclave of State and UT Education Ministers in New Delhi, he stressed that effective implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes is vital to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
He called for stronger Centre-State collaboration to address implementation challenges and empower every child, teacher and school. Highlighting initiatives such as PM POSHAN and Tithi Bhojan, he said they play a crucial role in improving children’s nutrition, especially among disadvantaged communities.
The second day of the conclave focused on Samagra Shiksha and PM POSHAN, with discussions on implementation, best practices and measures to improve learning outcomes. Senior officials from the Department of School Education and Literacy also presented updates on PM SHRI, ULLAS, inclusive education, skill education and PM POSHAN. The conclave reaffirmed the Centre and States’ commitment to delivering equitable, inclusive and quality school education in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
