Battle of Words and Wisdom: Students Shine at Frank Anthony Debate

E.C.I. Chalet Day School, Shimla hosted the Stage 1 (Category-I) round of the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition 2026 for Classes XI and XII on July 24.

The competition featured thought-provoking discussions on the topic, “Countries that pollute more should pay higher environmental penalties.” Students from various schools showcased their oratory skills, critical thinking and confidence while presenting their arguments.

The event was judged by an eminent panel comprising Prof. Meenakshi F. Paul, Prof. Dr. Neena Arora Jain and Dr. Deepali Dhaul, with Anamika Aukta serving as the moderator.

Teams representing Auckland House School for Boys, Auckland House School, Bishop Cotton School, Dayanand Aadarsh Vidyalaya and Dagshai Public School, Solan participated in the competition, along with student delegations from Auckland House School for Boys and St. Mary’s School.

Bishop Cotton School secured the winning position, while Auckland House School was declared the first runner-up. Prisha Dagar won the Best Speaker award, and Dev Moon Thanji was adjudged the First Runner-Up Speaker.

The organisers congratulated all speakers and participating delegations for delivering an exceptional standard of debate. Appreciation was also extended to all participants and visiting delegates for their inspiring display of eloquence, critical thinking and intellectual excellence, making the event a memorable platform for young minds.
