Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has issued strict directives to Deputy Commissioners across Himachal Pradesh to fast-track disaster relief and ensure no eligible family is left behind. During a high-level review of the special relief packages spanning 2023, 2024, and 2025—alongside the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment—the Minister instructed district heads to compile complete details of fully and partially damaged homes, cowsheds, shops, and other properties. Addressing reports of affected families missing out on aid, Negi mandated an immediate review to identify overlooked cases and expedite relief disbursements without delay.
Concurrently, a Cabinet Sub-Committee chaired by Negi met to advance plans for decongesting Shimla, major district headquarters, and the BBN industrial belt. Shimla authorities reported that land has already been identified outside the urban core to relocate four major commercial hubs, including the grain, vegetable, timber, and transport markets. Furthering regional infrastructure development, the Revenue Department has officially transferred over 7,000 bighas of land to HIMUDA and completed the formal mutation process, paving the way to construct a Chandigarh-style satellite town in the BBN area.
