History was made at the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan as the historic venue opened its doors to the festive rhythms, emerald hues, and vibrant energy of Hariyali Teej. Spearheaded by Lady Governor Bindu Gupta under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, the landmark celebration transformed the halls into a dynamic showcase of India’s folk artistry, female empowerment, and deep-rooted heritage.

The festivities kicked off with spirited performances by local women artists, setting a lively tone that brought civil society leaders and regional guests together under one roof. Governor Kavinder Gupta joined the grand debut, taking time to interact with participants while honoring the central theme of Nari Shakti. He emphasized that women have always been the bedrock of resilience, creativity, and strength in Indian civilization, noting that a truly developed society cannot be built without their equal participation and empowerment.

Highlighting the broader vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor pointed out that India’s modern growth trajectory must stay firmly anchored in its cultural DNA. He framed Teej—a festival celebrating the sacred union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati—as more than just a seasonal ritual, describing it as a vital bridge connecting younger generations to timeless values of love, family harmony, and devotion.

Rooted in Himachal Pradesh’s identity as a land of Dev Sanskriti, the celebration seamlessly bridged tradition with tangible ecological action. To mirror the green spirit of Teej, the Governor and Lady Governor presented attendees with plant saplings under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, wrapping up the landmark occasion with a ceremonial tree plantation drive. Both expressed high hopes that this inaugural event will spark an enduring annual tradition at Lok Bhavan—one that continually blends cultural pride, environmental duty, and the unstoppable force of women.
