CM Sukhu unveiled a massive infrastructure push for Bilaspur district’s Ghumarwin constituency today at Dadhol, launching 31 development projects valued at approximately ₹475 crore. The initiative aims to significantly upgrade regional water supply networks, public healthcare facilities, road connectivity, educational infrastructure, and rural livelihoods across the area.
Among the completed works inaugurated by the Chief Minister was a constituency-wide road repair drive costing ₹72 crore, alongside major road upgrades such as the Ropri Mair Haritalyangar and Targhel-Ladraur routes. To strengthen public services, he dedicated a ₹9.38 crore IPD Block at Civil Hospital Ghumarwin, a ₹6.45 crore Skill Development Centre, the PM Shri School building in Bharari, and essential drinking water supply projects funded under the Jal Jeevan Mission to serve leftover households.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for several flagship projects, highlighted by a ₹103.31 crore bridge over the Satluj river at Bhajwani village and ₹93.52 crore for Phase-2 wayside amenities in Auhar. Educational and civic infrastructure received substantial momentum with planned expansions for ITI Ghumarwin at ₹34.44 crore, the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School in Hatwar at ₹29.43 crore, a new HIMUDA commercial complex, and sports venues in Bharari and Macchwan.
Highlighting economic support for local agriculture, the Chief Minister announced that ₹2.44 crore has been sanctioned under the Silk Samagra-2 scheme for sericulture farmers in the Ghumarwin sub-division. The initiative funds the construction of 100 silkworm rearing houses with financial assistance of ₹1.85 lakh per unit, where he personally handed over ceremonial cheques to ten initial beneficiaries.
