Pro Vice Chairman DPS Shimla, Anil Walia, Participates in Professional Learning Programme
The Delhi Public School Society organised a two-day professional learning and leadership workshop on “Foundations of School Governance” at the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in New Delhi in mid-August 2026. The programme brought together Pro Vice Chairpersons of DPS satellite schools for focused discussions on governance, leadership, compliance and institutional excellence.
Mr. Anil Walia, Pro Vice Chairman, Delhi Public School Shimla, actively participated in the workshop and contributed to the deliberations and experience-sharing sessions.
The workshop was chaired by VK Shunglu, Chairman, Delhi Public School Society, in the presence of Vrinda Sarup, Member, Delhi Public School Society and Chairperson, DPS Shimla.
The sessions covered important dimensions of school governance, including legal and regulatory compliance, statutory requirements, institutional responsibilities, school management and effective decision-making. Participants exchanged experiences and best practices, providing valuable opportunities for peer learning and strengthening their understanding of contemporary challenges in school administration.
A round-table interaction with members of the Delhi Public School Society offered further insights into responsible leadership, institutional accountability, governance practices and strategic decision-making.
As part of the programme, participants also visited DPS Knowledge Park-V, where they observed the school’s infrastructure, operational systems and day-to-day functioning, gaining practical perspectives on effective institutional management.
The two-day programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony and reflections on the learning experience. The workshop underscored the importance of ethical and responsible governance, collaborative leadership, regulatory adherence and continuous institutional improvement, reaffirming the DPS Society’s commitment to excellence in school education and administration.
