Speaking at the release of ‘Akshar Se Atmabodh Tak: Tribhasha Sutra’ at Lok Bhavan, Governor Kavinder Gupta highlighted the vital importance of taking pride in one’s native language while actively learning other Indian tongues to foster national unity. Addressing an audience of academicians and administrative leaders, the Governor called on universities to lead research initiatives aimed at reviving and preserving ancient Indian scripts, noting that a nation’s linguistic heritage is the reflection of its cultural soul.

The newly released book—co-authored by Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Central University Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal, Inder Singh Thakur, Prof. Suman Sharma, and Dr. Ashok Sharma—explores the deep connection between language, education, and self-awareness. The Governor noted that the publication aligns seamlessly with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, both of which champion multilingual education and native language preservation as pillars of holistic learning.

Highlighting Himachal Pradesh’s rich oral and cultural traditions, the Governor underscored how mountain dialects, folk songs, and regional lore preserve generations of community wisdom and ecological sensitivity. Key speakers at the event—including Mukul Kanitkar, who delivered the keynote address, and Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar—further reinforced the importance of the trilingual formula (Tribhasha Sutra), discussing its history in state schools and expressing confidence that the book will offer fresh momentum for its effective implementation.
