The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) under the Union Ministry of Education is actively advancing its nationwide Special Campaign 6, running from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The initiative places strong emphasis on administrative streamlining, campus hygiene, and responsible electronic waste management across educational institutions.
Key thrust areas of the campaign include minimizing official pendency through record digitization and file reviews, alongside mobilizing Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE to drive cleanliness across school campuses nationwide. Furthermore, DoSEL has scheduled a comprehensive national e-waste awareness and collection drive for October 28, 2026, aimed at educating students on safe electronic waste disposal through authorized channels.
Highlighting creative sustainability efforts, DoSEL also installed a specialized e-waste mural and designated collection bins at Kartavya Bhavan 2 to mark International e-Waste Day on October 14, 2026. Crafted from 50 kilograms of electronic waste collected by students, the mural reinforces the core principles of the National Education Policy 2020 by promoting the “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” philosophy within institutional settings.
