YWCA Celebrates International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day was celebrated at the YWCA of Simla here today as a program was organised on this occasion wherein members and students of YWCA of Simla, volunteers and students of St. Thomas’ School participated. A short documentary movie on women empowerment was also screened. The guest speaker was Anshu Chaudhary, Honorable Civil Judge (Jr. Division) – cum Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Court No. 5 Shimla. She spoke on women’s rights and violence against women including sexual harassment at workplace, victim compensation scheme, labour laws, Domestic Violence Act and P.C. and PNDT Act. This was followed by an interactive discussion.
