Swan241216 (3)People of Shimla City got an opportunity to experience the magic of Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Swan Song’ at Gaiety Theater here today. The play was staged by Abhinay Darpan group to mark the celebration of its 10th Anniversary. The play depicted the story of a theater artist who retired after spending his golden years in acting.

Swan241216 (16)Throughout his life he had played various characters right up to mark and his performance had been loved and embraced by all but in end he was a lonely soul and no one to call his own.

The play was directed by Rupesh Bali and he did complete justice to each character.

Audience loved the performance and had a great time.

While commenting on the performance Vivek Mohan, one of the spectators said, “Actors can fall in Love but can’t marry… but I think they are happily married to the art form! Couldn’t believe a tall, lanky fellow walking straight on the Mall ‘drunk ‘ on stage! Pritam da drama tasted better than the popular Pritam da dhaba of Dadar East in Mumbai! It gave food for thought… Ikk din bikk jayega maati ke mol, jugg mein reh jayenge pyare tere boll.”
