NEP will make India ‘global hub’ of education: PM

Describing the New Education Policy as an expression of people’s aspirations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that it will help change the mindset of people and make the younger generation self-reliant and the country, a ‘global hub’ of education.
‘This education policy emphasises on creating job creators, rather than job seekers. This, in a way, is an attempt to bring reform in our mindset, in our approach,’ the Prime Minister said while addressing the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2020 via video-conferencing.
This is the fourth hackathon, in which 10,000 students are participating in the final.
Addressing the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2020, the Prime Minister said, ‘This policy has been made, keeping in mind the thought, needs, hopes and aspirations of the 21st century youth.
‘Therefore, this is not just a policy document, but also a reflection of aspirations of more than 130 crore Indians,’ the Prime Minister said.
The 21st century is the era of knowledge, he added.

‘This is the time to increase focus on Learning, Research and Innovation. This is exactly what the country’s National Education Policy, 2020 does.
‘This Policy wants to make your school, college and university experience, fruitful and broad-based. One that guides you to your natural passions, ‘ the Prime Minister said.
