Hi-Tech Fire Tenders Unleashed In Himachal : Firefighting Revolution

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu flagged off 10 hi-tech fire tenders, from Shimla today. These vehicles were equipped with foam-making machines, enabling them to tackle both ordinary fires and oil fires effectively. With this addition, the number of fire-fighting vehicles in the State has now reached 230.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government would open three new Fire sub-stations in Kaza (Lahaul-Spiti), Killar (District Chamba), and Nadaun (District Hamirpur). Additionally, a new fire chowki is set to be opened at Dehan in the Shimla district. These initiatives reflect the State government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens, he said.

Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that to further bolster the fire services across the State, the government has allocated Rs. 1.60 crore for the purchase of additional fire equipments. Moreover, an amount of Rs. 9.80 crore has been earmarked for the construction of office buildings and residential facilities for the fire stations, providing the personnel with modern amenities and to create conducive work environments.

MLA Ravi Thakur, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister (Media) Naresh Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Shimla Uma Kaushal, Director Fire Services Rakesh Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi were present on the occasion amongst others.
