Himachal Shooter Surya Pratap Singh Banshtu Wins Bronze at World University Games

Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, extended his hearty congratulations to Surya Pratap Singh Banshtu for securing a Bronze medal in the 50M shooting event at the World University Games held in China. The achievement was hailed as a moment of pride for the nation.

Surya Pratap Singh Banshtu, accompanied by his father Virender Singh, had the honor of meeting the Chief Minister in New Delhi. Chief Minister Sukhu expressed his admiration for Surya Pratap’s remarkable accomplishment and his contribution to India’s sporting legacy.

Banshtu’s exceptional skills have been honed at the Aradhana Shooting Club in Rohru, managed by the Sports Authority of India. Under the dedicated coaching of his father over the past seven years, Banshtu has exhibited consistent dedication and progress.

The talented shooter has previously clinched a Bronze medal in the World Championship held in Cairo, Egypt, in the same event. Additionally, he secured a Silver medal in the Junior World Cup in Sulhe, Germany. This victory reinforces the prowess of Himachal Pradesh’s athletes on the international stage, and Banshtu’s achievements are expected to inspire future generations to excel in the field of sports.
