A spokesperson for the Himachal Pradesh government announced today that, in accordance with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s directives, there has been an increase in the remuneration for specially appointed teachers (SMCs/outsourced) under the umbrella of universal education.
According to the spokesperson, the remuneration for specially appointed teachers at the elementary level has been raised from INR 8,910 to INR 14,095, while at the senior secondary level, the remuneration has been increased from INR 14,500 to INR 17,936. These revised salaries will be effective from October 1, 2023.
The spokesperson also revealed that, in addition to the salary increase, provision has been made for medical leave for specially appointed teachers under SMC. These teachers will be entitled to six days of medical leave per year.
Furthermore, the spokesperson mentioned that the salaries of vocational trainers working under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) have also been increased by INR 22,000 per month.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has consistently shown sensitivity to the demands of special educators and has fulfilled the commitment to raise their salaries. Education Minister Rohit Thakur expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for this initiative.
