Today, in a landmark event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually dedicated four power stations of SJVN to the nation, marking a significant step towards India’s renewable energy ambitions. The power stations include the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand, along with the 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Station, and 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for SJVN’s ambitious projects, including the 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project and the 15 MW Nangal Floating Solar Power Project in Himachal Pradesh, as well as a 70 MW Solar Project in Assam. These projects are poised to play a crucial role in India’s journey towards achieving a net-zero carbon emission economy by 2070.

The event, graced by the Governor of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister of Telangana A. Revanth Reddy, and Union Minister of Culture, Tourism & Development of North Eastern Region, G. Kishan Reddy, witnessed the virtual presence of SJVN’s Chairman & Managing Director, Geeta Kapur, and Director (Finance), Akhileshwar Singh.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his visionary leadership, SJVN‘s Chairman and Managing Director, Geeta Kapur, reiterated the company’s commitment to achieving the goal of 500 GW installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030. These projects, totaling 727 MW in capacity, are expected to generate 2255 million units of energy annually and significantly reduce carbon emissions.

SJVN, a power sector CPSE, has diversified its business into various forms of energy, including hydro, thermal, wind, solar, power trading, and power transmission. With a vision to achieve 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW installed capacity by 2040, SJVN remains at the forefront of India’s renewable energy revolution.
