Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while addressing a massive gathering at Pakka Bharo after laying the foundation stone of much awaited Hamirpur bus stand, said that it was from the last 15 years that the construction work of this bus stand was in limbo and now as the foundation stone has been laid, this project will be completed in one and a half years with an outlay of Rs. 65 crore.

“I had never imagined that few MLAs from the district will go against the party and hinder the pace of development in the district for which he was consistently working day and night,” said Sukhu.

He said that these MLAs have not only deceived the government but also the people of the respective constituencies. Lashing on the BJP, the Chief Minister said that it was unfortunate on the part of BJP legislators in Vidhan Sabha who never wanted the budget to be passed during the session and they resorted to unconstitutional tactics in a bid to overthrow the government.

The people of the State have elected the present government and it will complete its tenure in the service of the people. Sukhu said that despite financial constraints, the government has taken various historic decisions for the welfare of the people in the last 14 months which prove that we are here to serve the people and not to enjoy the power.

Due to earnest efforts of the Government, the revenue of the State has increased to nearly above 20 percent. Even in these dire fiscal conditions, the Government has completed its five guarantees within a year and three months. We have announced Indira Gandhi Pyari Bahana Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojna wherein Rs.1500 will be provided to all the eligible women from next fiscal.

Besides, we restored the OPS in the first Cabinet meeting after formation of the Government and due to this decision many economic restrictions were imposed on us by the Central Government. We have increased the procurement price of both cow and buffalo milk to Rs. 45 and Rs. 55 respectively to facilitate the farmers to sell their milk to milk federation to strengthen their economy, said the Chief Minister.

We have increased the relief money to the disaster affected families by changing the norms. Chairman Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Kuldeep Singh Pathania also spoke on the occasion. Former Minister Ram Lal Thakur presented a cheque of rupees one crore to the Chief Minister on behalf of Shri Naina Devi Temple Trust and Rs. 50 lakh on behalf of Baba Balaknath Temple Trust Shahtalai towards Mukhya Mantri Sukh Asharya Kosh.

Earlier, the Chief Minister performed inaugurations and foundation stones laying ceremonies of development projects worth Rs. 77 crore, which includes foundation stones of Rs. 65 crore modern bus stand at Pakka Bharo and also performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of Rs. 2.62 crore residential accommodation of animal husbandry department, residential accommodation of PWD to cost Rs. 1.49 crore, Rs. 1.50 crore augmentation of Jattan-Ghirthan Lift water supply scheme.
