No re-test for NEET 2024: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the plea of re-test of NEET UG exam stating that there are no concrete evidence found that can lead to the belief that there has been systematic discrepancy in the exam.

The matter was in hearing in Supreme Court under Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, heading a three-judge Bench comprising Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra.

The NEET (UG) 2024 was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024 at 4750 Centres in 571 cities (including 14 cities abroad) for more than 24 lakhs candidates. The result of the NEET (UG)-2024 was declared on June 4, 2024. A re-test was held for 1563 candidates on June 23, 2024, out of which a total of 813 candidates appeared therein. The result of the re-test of NEET (UG) 2024 was declared on 30 June 2024. 

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has applauded the Supreme Court’s decision on the NEET-UG issue. He said that  after this verdict the final results of the entrance exam would be declared within two days.
